ASSEMBLY OF CYLINDER HEAD
(See page EM-46 or 47)
NOTE:
• Thoroughly clean all parts to be assembled.
• Before installing the parts, apply new oil to all sliding
and rotating surfaces .
• Replace all gaskets and oil seals with new parts.
1. IN STALL COMBUSTION CHAMBERS
(a) Match the combustion chamber knock pin with the
cylinder head notch.
(b) Using plastic hammer, drive in the combustion cham-
ber.

Using a dial ind icator, check the combustion cham-
ber protrusion.
Combustion chambe r protrusion:
0.0 1 - 0.07 mm (0.0004 - 0.0028 in.)
If the protrusion is not with in specification . adjust it w ith a
combustion chamber adjust shim .
Adj ust shim thickness:
Shim No. 1 0.05 mm (0.0 0 2 0 in.)
Shim N o. 2 0.10 mm (0.0039 in.)

INSTA LL VA LVES
(a) Insert the valve in the valve guide bushing . Check
that the valves are installed in the correct order.
(bl Install the spring seat and
a new
oil seal.
