Do not mix the mated parts with

valves using a valve spring com­
p r e s s o r .

ro c k e r a rm s,
and the springs from the ro c k e r
shaft.
Inspection & R epair
Wash the disassembled
roughly before inspection and rep a ir
to rem ove the
w ater s c a le .
Check the cylinder block and the cyl­
inder head fo r cracks and w a ter leak
b efore w ashin g.
Blow all passages with com pressed
a i r , and rem ove the deposits.
Check that the passages a re not clo g­
ged .
Rem ove the carbon deposits from the
top of the pistons, combustion cham­
b e r s in the cylinder head, and also
rem ove from the valves without dam­
aging the p a r t s .
Do not mix the mated parts with the
o th e rs .

1. Check the cylinder head fo r crack ,
and inspect the gasket surface fo r
burr and n ick s.

head gasket surface with a straight
edge and a fe e le r g a u g e .

( 0 . 0 0 2 " ) , grind the gasket s u r­
face with a surface grin d er.
