(bl Check the electro lyte quantity of each cell.
If insufficient. refill with d istilled (or purified) water .
2. CHECK BATTERY TERMINALS , FUS IBLE LINK S AND
FUSES
(al Check tha t the battery termi nals are not loose
or
cor-
roded.
(bl Check the fusible links
and
fuses for continuity.
3. IN SPECT DRIVE BELT

Vis ually chec k the belt for separation of the adhesive rub-
ber above and below the core, core separating from the
bel t side, severed cor e. separation of the r ib from the
adhesive rubber, cracking
or
separation of the ribs, tom
or
worn ribs
or
crac ks in the
inner
ridges of the ribs.

Visually check the drive belt for cracks, oiliness or wear .
Check that the belt does not touch the bottom of the
pulley groove .
If
necessary. replace the drive belt.
4 . IN SPECT DRIV E BELT DEFL ECT ION
Check the drive belt deflection by pressing on the belt at
the points indicated in the figure with 10 kg (22.0 lb , 98
NI pressure.
