NOTE:
• "New belt " refers to a belt which has been used less
than 5 minutes on a running engine.
• "Used belt " refers to a belt which has been used on a
running engine for 5 minutes or more.
• After installing the drive belt, check that it fits property
in the ribbed grooves .
• Check by hand

confirm that the belt has not slipped
out of the groove on the bottom of the crankshaft
pulley.
• After installing the belt , run the engine
for
about 5
minutes and then recheck the deflection.
20. T ORQUE FAN PULLEY (FR Veh icles) AND PS PUMP
PUL_ LEY (FF Vehicles)
Push down on the drive belt
to
hold the pulley in place and
torque the pulley nuts .
Torque:
Fan pulley 75 kg-cm (65 in. -lb , 7.4 N ·m)
PS pum p pu lley 440 kg -cm (32 ft-lb, 4 3 N·m)
