U brackets or tank ribs.

v with tf>e SST . Use a pliers or such and be careful not
t to damage the core plates.
6. INSPIUSPECT FOR WATER LEAKS
(a )

Tighten the drain plug .
(b)

Plug the inlet and outlet pipes of the radiator with
SST .

(c) ll::) Using a radiator tester , apply pressure to the radiator .
Test .est pressl!lre : 1.8 kg/cm 2 (26 psi. 177 kPa)

Inspect for water leaks.
I\IOT&OTE: On radiators with resin t anks, there is a clearance

the core plate and tank plate where a minut e
a mo u.nnount of a,ir will remain , causing an appearance of an air
leak 111'- -' ak when the radiator is submerged in water . Therefo re,
l>efo,-fore performing the water leak test ,
first
swish the
rad iatllldiator around in the water until all air bubbles disappear .
7. PAIM...AINT TANK PLATES
NOTBl :OTE : If the water leak test checks out okay. allow the
ra d i atmdiator to completely dry and then paint the tank plate .
