REPLACEMENT OF OIL SEALS
NOTE: There are two ways of oil seal replacement
depending on whether the oil pump or rear oil seal retainer
was removed or not.
1. REPLACEMENT OF CRANKSHAFT FRONT OIL SEAl
If the oil pump was removed from the cylinder block:

Using a screwdriver and ha~. drive out the oil
seal.
lb) Apply MP grease to a
new
oil seal.

Using SST and hammer, drive in a new oil seal until
its surface is flush with the oil pump body edge.

If the oi l pump was not removed from the cylinder
block :
(a) Using a knife, cut off the oil seal lip.
lb) Using a screwdriver, pry off the oil seal.
CAUTION: Tap the screwdriver tip and be careful not
to damage the crankshaft.
le) Apply MP grease to a new oil seal.
Id) Using SST and hammer, drive in a new oil seal until
its surface is flush with the oil pump body edge.
