17. STARTING SYSTEM
Pull back the rubber cover.
INSTALLATION
Remove the starter motor lead screw with a #3
Phillips screwdriver.
Connect the starter motor cable.
Free the cable lead from the starter motor.
Check the O-ring for wear or damage and replace
if necessary.
Thread the nut back on to keep track of it.
Apply grease to the O-ring and install it to the
starter motor.
Tighten the two mounting bolts.
STARTER RELAY INSPECTION
Disconnect the starter relay wire connector.
Check for continuity between the yellow/red wire
and green/yellow wire.
There should be continuity when the starter
button is depressed.

Inspect the starter motor O-ring and replace it
