Additional methods for determining the emissivity of your target object include the
following:
• Emissivity tables (see
• Measurement in a blind hole (6x diameter)
• Measurement at the melting point of the material
• Examination in a lab

emissivity of your target object, contact AE Technical Support Organization.

Clear Time Interval for the Maximum Value Storage

When the maximum value storage is switched on, the pyrometer will determine
the highest temperature measurement. This maximum value is then stored and
displayed. The pyrometer will not display (provide) any new temperatures until
either the maximum value storage is cleared or a higher maximum temperature is
detected. Once the maximum value storage is cleared, a new maximum value will be
measured.
 Important
Since the maximum value storage is a function of the exposure time, you must
set a clear time interval that is at least three times longer than the exposure
time for the pyrometer to determine the highest temperature measurement.
Depending on the clear time interval setting, the maximum value storage
automatically works in either single storage mode or double storage mode.
Single Storage Mode
In single storage mode, when the maximum value storage is cleared, the display will
also be cleared. Once cleared, the pyrometer determines the next highest temperature
measurement.
Double Storage Mode
In double storage mode, when the maximum value storage is cleared, the display will
continue to show the previous maximum value until the pyrometer determines the
next highest temperature measurement.

CLEAR TIME INTERVAL

The clear time interval (t
object temperatures cause the display or the analog outputs to change rapidly, or
when the pyrometer is not constantly viewing a target object to be measured. In some
cases, it might also be beneficial to periodically delete and reset the stored maximum
values.
