Setting the Converter Box Address

When using multiple Impac pyrometers connected to a PC with RS-485, each
converter box must have its own unique address for individual communication
purposes. The address for each converter box can be set using UPP commands and a
serial communication program, such as the Infra600 software.
If using a converter box with a display, the address can also be set using the M/ADR
parameter.
 Important
Only one converter box address can be changed at a time, which requires
having only one converter box connected to the PC at a time. After each
converter box has a unique address, they can all be connected and used at the
same time.
TO SET THE CONVERTER BOX ADDRESS
1. Connect one converter box to the PC.
If using a converter box with a display, skip this step.
2. Either open a serial communication program or navigate to the M/ADR
parameter using the converter box display.
3. Assign a unique 2-digit address to the converter box.
Valid addresses are 00 to 97.
 Important
4. Disconnect the converter box from the PC.
If using a converter box with a display, skip this step.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 for each additional converter box.
6. Connect all converter boxes to the PC once each converter box has been
assigned a unique address.

Keep a record of the address that is assigned to each converter box.
To send UPP commands to one converter box when more than one
converter box is connected, you will need to know the unique address
that is assigned to the converter box to which you want to send UPP
commands.
