NORMAL OPERATION

The Impac pyrometer will only get a correct temperature reading when the emissivity
settings are correct for the target material, the pyrometer is aligned to the target
object, the spot size is smaller than the target object, the ambient conditions are
stable, and there are no other disturbances (such as reflections).
After installing the Impac pyrometer according to the installation procedures
in this user manual, verify the temperature measurements. If necessary, adjust
the parameters (for example, emissivity and response time) to achieve accurate
temperature measurements for your application.
 Important
When using multiple converter boxes connected to the PC with RS-485,
parameters can be changed simultaneously on all converter boxes by using
global address 98. The pyrometers will not respond to confirm that a change
has been made.
 Important
When using one converter box connected to the PC with RS-485, if you do
not know the converter box address, you can change parameters using override
address 99. The pyrometer will respond to confirm that a change has been
made.

Setting Pyrometer Parameters

You can parameterize pyrometer settings by exchanging Universal Pyrometer
Protocols (UPP) commands directly with the Impac pyrometer using the digital
interface and the provided Infra600 software. The full list of UPP commands is in
Appendix F, "UPP
If using a converter box with a display, you can also parameterize most pyrometer
settings using the display and keys. The full list of these pyrometer parameters is in
Appendix E, "Pyrometer Parameters (Converter Box with
You can also use optional software or customer programming code to parameterize
pyrometer settings.
