5.4.

ALIGNMENT OF X-RAY FIELD CEPH MODE

5.4.1. Orthoralix 9200 / Plus / Ceph / DPI
To check the alignment of the X-ray field in CEPH mode proceed as
follows:
(1)
Check that the metal ear rings are present on the earplugs.
(2)
Set the earplugs in the middle position.
(3)
Select 60 kV, 10 mA, 0.80 sec, insert a loaded film casset-
te, make an exposure and develop the film.
(4)
Check that the X-ray field limits lie at a distance of about 7
mm from the film edges. If not, adjust the X-ray collimator as
described in section F11.

Check that the images of the ear rings are concentric
on the film (the smallest depicted ring is the closest to the
cassette). If not, adjust the earplugs as described at section
F.

Repeat the tests for the other film formats foreseen.

5.4.2. Orthoralix 9200 DDE
The alignment procedure for the CEPH mode is divided in two steps:

These alignments are done by using the X-ray alignment Service
Program: please refer to the procedure described in the paragraph
Adjusting the X-ray collimator in the Section F of this Service
Manual.
Finally, it is necessary to check the alignment of the ear rings:

If not, adjust the earplugs as described in the Section F of this
Service Manual.

Check that the metal ear rings are present on the earplugs.
Make an exposure and check that the ear rings are
concentric on the image (the smallest depicted ring is the
closest to the sensor).
