5.6.

AEC CEPH CALIBRATION

The parameter used for the calibration of the ceph AEC sensor and
cassette/screens is written on a label should be stuck on the ceph
lead plate, placed on the rear side of the ceph cassette carriage,
where the following information are present:
S/N
is the S/N of the PA5 board
Cassette
is the cassette and screens used for the
calibration (they are the ones delivered with
the ceph arm)
C
is the calibration parameter for the AEC
Date
date of the calibration
The ceph AEC sensor and cassette are already calibrated in factory,
but the calibration parameter (C) must be stored using the service
program AEC Ceph tune: see the Section F of this Service Manual
for more details.
Please record this calibration parameter also in the Configuration
Chart.
5.7.

CONFIGURATION CHART

Please fill in the Configuration Chart (at the end of this Section C of
the Service Manual) with the necessary information: this could be
useful in the future (i.e. replacement of the X-ray tubehead,
software replacement/upgrading, etc.).
5.8.

AEC CALIBRATION WITH DENOPTIX

When the Denoptix system is used in combination with an Orthoralix
9200 having the AEC option, the calibration of the AEC sensor
(panoramic and/or ceph) with the cassette(s) provided with the
Denoptix, must be done.
In this case, the brass filter (code 4519 122 25571) used in the
AEC calibration procedure, is supplied with the Denoptix system.
To perform the AEC calibration follow the instructions given in the
Section F of this Service Manual.

6.

FUNCTIONAL TEST

6.1.

PERFORMANCE TEST

(1)
Switch on the system with the mains ON/OFF switch.
(2)
Press the reset key, and check the automatic reset
positioning, either in PAN or CEPH mode.
(3)
Check all the operator functions with the help of the User
Manual.
(4)
Select panoramic mode operation, satisfy all the
pre-conditions for panoramic exposure and check that the
green "READY" lamp is on.
(5)
Select transcan mode operation, satisfy all the pre-
conditions for transcan exposure and check that the green
"READY" lamp is on.
(6)
Select CEPH mode operation, by rotating the tubehead and
collimator.
(7)
Press the reset key, check the reset positioning in CEPH
mode and check that the green "READY" lamp is on.

Move away from the radiation area and perform an
exposure by means of the handswitch. Check that the
X-ray buzzer sounds and the X-ray yellow lamp is on, and
that no alarm indication is generated.

Make a new exposure and release the X-ray pushbutton
before the end of the exposure: check that the X-rays and
the rotation movement are immediately stopped, as required
by the "dead-man" function.
(10)
Simulate and check the functioning of the "COLLIMATOR"
and "TUBEHEAD" operator alarms described in section F.
6.2.

CUSTOMER TEST

To prove to the customer that the system complies with the
standards perform the tests described in section D: ACCEPTANCE.
