Selecting an Installation Area

After unpacking the CMTS 1000, select an appropriate installation area
that allows room for the CMTS 1000, as well as for the cables and power
cord.

Mounting

Rack Requirements

The Bay Networks CMTS 1000 is designed to be mounted in a standard
19" rack, compliant with EIA RS-310.
Caution: The 19" rack suitable for Bay Networks CMTS 1000 installation
must support a minimum of 25 pounds. Do not mount the Bay Networks

CMTS 1000 in any manner that could cause a hazardous condition due to
uneven mechanical loading.
