7. Remove the fastener
arm to the bearing carrier. Discard the lock nuts.
8. Remove the upper control arm from the vehicle.
9. Inspect the bushings and pivot shafts. Replace if
worn or damaged.

Rear Upper Control Arm Installation
1. Install new bushings and pivot shafts into the control
arm or bearing carrier if required. Apply Premium All
Season Grease to parts.
2. Install the upper control arm bolts and new lock nuts.
Torque nuts to specifications.
TORQUE
Upper Control Arm to Frame Fasteners:
42 ft-lbs (57 Nm)
3. Install the shock mounting fastener. Torque to
specification.
TORQUE
Shock Fastener:
42 ft-lbs (57 Nm)
4. Install the fastener that secures the sway bar linkage
to the lower control arm.
5. Install the fastener retaining the control arm to the
bearing carrier. Torque to specification.
TORQUE
Bearing Carrier Fastener:
42 ft-lbs (57 Nm)
6. Reinstall wheel assembly and tighten lug nuts hand
tight.
7. Safely lower the vehicle onto the ground. Torque
wheel lug nuts to specification.
TORQUE
Aluminum Wheels:
30 ft-lbs + 90° (41 Nm)
IMPORTANT
Test drive vehicle at slow speeds to verify repair.
