ENGINE MOUNT INSPECTION
The front of the engine is mounted with three bolts to a bracket that spans the width of the chassis. The bracket is
secured to the frame via two rubber engine mounts. These mounts can be accessed by removing the left and right
rocker panels. The engine mount bracket can remain in the vehicle when removing the engine.
The rear of the engine features a bracket that mounts directly to the rear gearcase. The rear gearcase is mounted to
the rear frame with one rubber mount.
The bolts, washers, and flange nuts that attach the bracket to the engine and the rear gearcase must be discarded
when loosened. Re-use of the bolts, washers, and flange nuts may cause severe damage to the engine, bracket, or
rear gearcase.
Inspect the three rubber engine mounts as outlined in the periodic maintenance table. The engine / rear gearcase
mount should be inspected if abnormal engine / rear gearcase movement is observed or clutch alignment and/or
abnormal belt wear is found.
The rubber engine mounts can be serviced after supporting the weight of the engine / rear gearcase assembly with
blocks of wood.
