RESP: RESP Menu
This option activates and deactivates the cardiogenic filter and lets you decide
how the breath detection threshold is determined. When you choose auto, the
Monitor uses heart rate derived from the ECG parameter and automatically sets
the breath detection threshold. When you choose manual, the cardiogenic filter
is deactivated causing the Monitor not to use the ECG rate output to monitor
RESP. You can then manually set the breath detection threshold using the
Detection threshold option.
This option is accessible only when the cardiogenic filter is set to manual. When
you choose this option, a horizontal line appears on the impedance waveform
and a number representing the current detection threshold appears next to the
menu option. The number is the position of the line as a percentage of the
displayed waveform. Turning the Trim Knob moves the line up and down and
changes the number in the box. You must push the Trim Knob to set the
detection threshold. The horizontal line then disappears from the waveform. A
new breath is counted each time the measured impedance goes above and
then below the detection threshold.
This option lets you choose the priority of the limit alarms.
This option lets you choose priorities for Resp approaching, Lead fail,
Saturation, and Artifact alarms.
NOTE: When in manual mode, the Resp approaching alarm compares the
most recent heart rate interval to the most recent breath interval. The
alarm is activated if the breath interval is within (approximately) ±10%
of the heart rate interval.
This option lets you change the color of this parameter's vital signs that appear
on the Monitor's screen.
This option allows you to view, but not change, the various configuration
options. To change any config option, you must go into the password-protected
Configuration Mode. Refer to the Dash 2500 Patient Monitor Service Manual
(PN 2042481-001) for more information.
