NIBP Auto Hardkey

Auto Mode

2042480-001 C
NIBP: Auto Mode
The NIBP Auto hardkey initiates auto and stat determinations and opens the
Auto BP menu option for quick access to set the auto cycle time.
The time between auto-BP determinations is user-selected (1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, 10-,
15-, 20-, 30-, 60-, 90-, and 120-minute intervals). You can also choose manual to
return to manual determinations or custom to activate the user-defined auto
mode.
NOTES
The NIBP Auto hardkey is unavailable if an OVERPRESSURE alarm is active.
The single-push function of this hardkey is unavailable if: 1) the freeze
feature is active or 2) an adjuster menu is open.
During a stat determination, the Monitor will sound a tone and display the
early systolic pressure. The early systolic value will disappear once the
blood pressure determination is complete. Early systolic is not shown for the
first stat determination.
If the unit is on battery operation and battery life is at or below 15%, stat
determinations will not be enabled. However, current determinations will be
completed if underway at the time of the BATTERY LOW alarm.
Auto mode determinations are started automatically when a time interval is
selected in the Auto BP menu option or when the NIBP Auto hardkey is quick-
pushed. If a manual determination is in progress, it is considered to be the first of
the auto mode determinations. If stat mode is active, auto mode starts when the
stat determinations are complete. In auto mode, determinations are
synchronized with the system clock giving the user the convenience of having
the readings fall on every quarter-hour, half-hour, and hour, etc., depending
upon the time interval setting. For example, if the current time was 8:07 and 15
min is chosen for Auto BP, after the first auto determination, other auto
determinations would be started at 8:15, 8:30, 8:45, 9:00, etc.Warning:
WARNING
The NIBP parameter should be set to determine blood
pressures only as frequently as is clinically necessary to
ensure adequate patient monitoring.
To start the series of auto NIBP determinations, choose a time interval. The
first determination starts, and auto: XX min (the time you have selected)
appears in the vital signs field. Subsequent determinations will start
automatically at the specified time interval.
