Admit Patient: Admit Patient Menu
Personal patient information (e.g., patient name, bed number) is entered through
the Admit patient menu though it is not necessary for an admission or a
recording to occur.
When a patient is admitted, the following changes occur:
In Trends: New patient values are separated from previous patient's values
and the previous patient's name is erased.
In Event History window: Previous patient's waveforms associated events
are erased. History log of event is not erased.
The Monitoring configuration reverts back to default settings.
NOTE: Any time a patient is admitted, the settings return to the chosen set of
defaults.
You can use this option to admit a patient at any time during monitoring.
However, for optimal results, a new patient should be admitted prior to, or
shortly after monitoring for that patient begins.
NOTES
Check that the settings are correct for the patient you are admitting. If the
patient type is not correct, immediately select the appropriate option from
choose patient settings.
You can admit a patient without entering the name, bed number, or unit
number.
