Alarms: Alarm Limit Settings
Alarm limit settings are not affected when you turn the Monitor off and then on
again unless you choose to admit a new patient. In this case, the alarm limits
return to those set in the chosen default. Parameter alarm limits become active
when patient values go either above the set high limit or below the low limit (e.g.,
HR high limit set at 140 bpm. Alarm will become active if HR reaches 141 bpm).
The Adjust alarms menu lets you adjust alarm volume and alarm limits for all
active parameters, as well as print a recording of the alarm limit settings. After
choosing this option, all alarm limits appear in the waveform area of the screen
listing the parameters, limits, values, and units.
This menu item lets you print the current alarm limits for all active parameters.
This option is available when the printer is not busy.
This menu option lets you adjust the alarm volume. Alarm volume may be set
from 0 to 5 for all alarms (0 is only available if the chosen set of user defaults
was configured this way). Alarm volume applies to all alarms except system
faults.
