Âstand alone
master
slave
This function is used to specify in which operating mode the Gammapilot M will be used.
Note!
The selection can be performed only once and the function is automatically locked after that. It can
only be unlocked again by a reset of the Gammapilot M ("Reset" (*A3) function).
Possible operating modes of the Gammapilot M: a: a: a: a: stand alone; b: b: b: b: master; c: c: c: c: slave(s); d: d: d: d: end-slave
Selection:
• stand alone
This option is selected if the Gammapilot M is used as a single instrument.
• master
This option is selected if the Gammapilot is located at the beginning of a cascading chain. The
master receives pulses of a connected slave, adds its own pulses and calculates the measuring
value from this sum.
• slave
This option is selected if the Gammapilot M is located in the middle of a cascading chain. The
slave receives the pulses of a further connected slave or end-slave, adds its own pulses and
transmitts the sum to the next Gammapilot M (master or slave) of the chain.
After selection of this option the basic setup is finished. When cascading several transmitters, the
further calibration is performed on the master only.
• end slave
This option is selected if the Gammapilot M is located at the end of a cascading chain. The end-
slave does not receive pulses from another instrument, but transmitts its own pulses to the next
Gammapilot M (master or slave) of the chain.
After selection of this option, the basic setup is finished. When cascading several transmitters the
further calibration is performed on the master only.
• not defined
is displayed if no operating mode has been selected yet. In order to continue the basic setup, a
selection is necessary.
Note!
If a "slave" or an "end-slave" are connected to the "ToF Tool - FieldTool Package", the pulse rate is
displayed in the header instead of the measured value.
