Enabling and Disabling LCD Password Security
Using the LCD password security feature, you can prevent a user from inadvertently
changing settings or interrupting library operations. When security is enabled, you
cannot:
Change the control mode
Change SCSI IDs
Change the SCSI parity checking
Perform LCD diagnostics
Use the LCD options for cleaning the CTSs
Open the front door
If a user attempts to perform any of these operations while security is enabled, the
LCD displays a message stating that security is active.
Security remains in effect even after you reset the tape library, or power the tape
library off and back on. You can disable security by entering your password in the
Security submenu.
Viewing Errors
If an error occurs, the tape library displays an error message on the bottom two lines
of the LCD. The upper line includes the error number, and the lower line gives a
brief description. Refer to Appendix C for error code descriptions.
