Full brake is used from set
speed to near 0 rpm, to
bring the rotor to a stop in
the shortest possible time.
Reduced brake is used
during the last few rpm
until 0 is reached, to
minimize disturbance of the
sample.

Setting the Acceleration Rate
NOTE
The default setting for both acceleration and deceleration is maximum (
lights are already lit, no input is required. To choose a different setting, follow the steps below.

Reduced torque is used from set speed to
500 rpm, causing deceleration to 500 rpm to
take twice as long as maximum deceleration.
(The exact rate depends on the mass of the
rotor in use. Larger rotors will take longer.)
Deceleration time from 500 to 0 rpm is
approximately 2 minutes (larger rotors take
longer).
