The jogger motor (stepper motor) [A] drives the end fence rack gear [B]
inward or outward. The other end of the end fence rack gear is engaged with
the side fence rack gears [C] through an idle gear. Therefore, the drive of the
jogger motor moves the jogger end fence [D] and the jogger side fences [E]
inward or outward.
When the main switch is turned on, the jogger motor rotates to place the
jogger fences at the home position by monitoring the signal of the jogger
home position sensor [F].
In multiple 2-sided copying mode, 833 ms after the fusing exit sensor detects
the leading edge of the first copy, the jogger motor rotates to position the
jogger side fences 5 mm, and the jogger end fence 8 mm, away from the
selected paper size. When the copy paper is delivered in the duplex tray,
actually 205 ms after the duplex turn gate sensor detects the trailing edge of
the paper, the jogger fences move inward to square the paper. 833 ms after
the fusing exit sensor detects the leading edge of the next copy paper, the
jogger fences move back to the previous positions (5 mm and 8 mm away
from the paper size).
