10. QUENCHING

In preparation for the next copy cycle, light from the quenching lamp (QL) [A]
neutralizes any charge remaining on the drum [B].
A cold cathode lamp is used for quenching and it is turned on whenever the
main motor rotates.
A yellow filter is installed for the QL to reduce ultraviolet light which would
cause light fatigue on the OPC drum.
