PROCESSOR (CPU)

In addition to the standard CPU (Intel® Xeon™ Processor), you can add one CPU to make a
multi-processor system.
IMPORTANT:
The CPU is extremely sensitive to static electricity. Make sure to touch the metal frame of the
server to discharge static electricity from your body before handling the CPU. Do not touch the
CPU terminals or on-board parts with a bare hand or place the CPU directly on the desk. For
static notes, see the preceding section "Anti-static Measures".
Do not use the system before checking to see it works correctly.
Make sure to use the CPU authorized by NEC. Installing a third-party CPU may cause a failure
of the CPU as well as the server. Repair of the server due to failures or damage resulted from
installing such a board will be charged.
Before adding or removing CPU, power off the server and detach the CPU module.
Make sure to read "Anti-static Measures" and "Preparing Your System for Upgrade" before
starting installing or removing options.
