General Description
Cautions about adding hard disk drives
After adding an unused (no signature) hard disk, PCI modules may not become
duplicated on a rare occasion (the Status LED 2 of the PCI module where the hard
disk is added may illuminate amber).
→ When the Status LED 2 of the PCI module where a hard disk is added illuminates
amber, use [Disk Management] to perform "Initialize Disk" to the added hard disk
(without signature) (the image below). The color of the Status LED 2 of the PCI
module changes to green, and the PCI module becomes duplicated.
Note:
The signature mentioned above indicates the signature written to the disk
when making a disk usable on Windows.
Connection timeout of LAN protocol
Immediately after NEC Express5800/ft series is booted or when CPU modules are
remounted, there is a possibility that connection timeout of LAN protocol between
NEC Express5800/ft series and clients occurs.
→ There is a possibility that connection between NEC Express5800/ft series and
computers connected by LAN protocol has no communication and times out
immediately after booting NEC Express5800/ft series or while remounting
(duplicating) CPU modules. For details and workaround, see "Setting up PCs on a
Network" in Chapter 5 "Procedures after Completion of Installation" of the User's
Guide (Setup).
