ACTAS 2

When the ACTAS Control Unit needs to further increment or decrement a projector
setting which is already at its end of adjustment range, the automatic adjustment
process will be stopped and reported.
Possible causes and remedies :
K
Check if all signals arrive correctly.
K
Check if the Sensor is installed correctly (Red on red, blue on blue).
K
Check if the address setting on the ACTAS corresponds with the projector address.
In case of "custom" or "G2" references :
K
Check if reference values are realistic (e.g. not equal to 0).
K
Check if the measuring frequency changed since references were taken.
In case of defocusing :
the defocused level cannot be obtained by defocusing, because it is already too high.
K
The electronic circuitry is already over compensating for blue phosphor saturation;
just leave the blue tube sharp.
When ranges are no problem, but continued iterations of adjustments can not come
closer to the targeted adjustment that falls within the specified adjustment tolerance,
a time-out error will occur after about 5 minutes.
Possible causes and remedies :
K
The high and low light levels were chosen too close to each other, so that their
mutual influence is too important - choose these levels further apart.
K
The picture is too noisy, so that the light output measurements are unstable - check
picture quality.
K
Too many communication retries have to be done - check whether the projector is
not continuously receiving infra red commands during the adjusting process.
K
Strong and varying ambient light penetrates the lenses - use screening.
K
If a picture noise problem cannot be overcome, an automatic adjustment can still
be carried out if a greater tolerance is allowed.
When the end message of 'Color adjusted' is displayed, but the visual aspect does not
appear good, pay attention to the following points :
K
The brightness of the reference projector should always be at the level which no
scan lines are visible in the area of the picture that is supposed to be black. This
should be checked by looking into the lenses directly when for example the 20%
level box is displayed (Because of the eventual ambient light).
K
Defocus blue ! Indispensable at 15kHz; still advised at 75kHz.
K
In case of MVGS driven 801S OEM projectors operating at 75kHz, at least use the
TOP BLANKING adjustment to suppress the horizontal lines sometimes occurring
at the start of the field (Attention : since these lines are outside the active picture,
and therefore invisible on the screen, this phenomenon should be verified by looking
into the lenses).
