To alter the values of the brightness and contrast :

right to underline the digit needed to be changed.

Press the <ENTER> key to save the changes. A
message will be displayed to report the saving pro-
cess. If the <EXIT> key is pressed, the changes will
be discarded. A message will be displayed to report
the reverting process.
Examples are given, which alters the brightness from
47% to 56% and the contrast from 60% to 52%.
With the option 'Init bri & con' ON, the brightness of the
projector will be initialized first to the specified level.
Automatically thereafter, it will be adjusted to that level
which makes the scan lines just visible. This function
enables the user to set a reference projector in a
graphical wall to a correct brightness level.
Note : For a minor adjustment of a projector, set this
option 'Init Bri & con' to 'OFF' and also the option
'Coarse adj' to 'OFF'.
Defocusing the blue picture tube ON/OFF
Defocusing the blue picture tube is done to achieve the
following two goals :
u
Improved color purity by making the yellow spots
disappear;
u
Improved color tracking.
In most cases, a compromise should be made between
the color aspect and the sharpness aspect : especially
where horizontal scan rates are low . As a matter of fact,
to achieve optimal color properties at low horizontal
scan rates often requires a degree of defocusing which
is not acceptable.
A general rule : defocusing of the blue picture tube is
indispensable where the horizontal scan frequency is at
15kHz, and a little bit of focusing is still advisable at
75kHz.
To switch the 'Defocusing' ON/OFF:

Press the <ADJUST> key to enter the edit mode.

"OFF".

Press the <ENTER> key to save the change. A
message will be displayed to report the saving pro-
cess. If the <EXIT> key is pressed, the changes will
