Aligning multiple projectors

The 'Host computer'

In a system where a computer was originally connected
to the projectors for controlling them through the RS232
communication, it has then to be directed to connect to
the port marked as 'TO HOST' on the ACTAS Interface
using the same cable with D9 connectors. The first
projector in the chain has then to be connected to the
port marked as 'TO PROJ. RS232 IN' on the Interface .
This kind of connection enables the computer to control
the projectors without any interference from the Inter-
face.
However, no commands from the computer should
be executed to control the projectors while an auto-
matic ACTAS adjustment procedure is running.
The host computer is in the terminal mode, while the
Interface and the projectors are in modem mode.
The pin out is the 'Standard' PC-AT convention :

If a cable other than the supplied is used, then it should have at least pin numbers 2, 3, 5, 6 and 8 interconnected
to the corresponding pins.
For detailed descriptions for the communication through the port marked as 'TO HOST' on the Interface, please refer
to Appendix B : Serial communication.
Note :
In this system, the host computer should be able to generate signals as the Interface 'TEST PICTURE OUTPUT'
is not used.
If the system is built around a PC with a multi-output graphics card, a software Windows
from BARCO, which generates the required adjustment pictures.

POWER CONNECTION

Connect all units requiring power to the mains to start up the adjustment.
When inserting the plugs of the power cords into the wall outlets, please make sure the operating voltage is the same
as the local power supplies.
