9.4 Inspecting Safety Features

CAUTION
Risk of injury from falling objects!
During all suction tests, only apply suction to the load. Do not lift it.
If operation is interrupted, check the safety features at the beginning of each shift.
For continuous shift operation, check the safety features once a week.

9.4.1 Inspecting the gauge

 Switch on the vacuum generator.
 A warning signal sounds.
 When the minimum required vacuum of -0,6 bar is reach, the warning signal shuts off.
 The safety feature is working correctly.

9.4.2 Testing the Warning Device

1. Switch on the vacuum generator.
2. Place the lifting device on a load with a smooth, airtight surface, e.g. a metal sheet.
 A warning signal sounds until the working vacuum of -0,6 bar is reached.
3. Press the Pick up load (12.2) button.
4. Once the vacuum is established, create a leak on the sealing lip.
 The vacuum shown on the gauge will decrease.
 When the vacuum falls below the minimum vacuum of -0,6 bar, the warning signal must sound.
If the lifting device has a second vacuum circuit, repeat this test on the second vacuum circuit.
The alarm threshold of the warning device is set for the lifting device at the factory. Never adjust the alarm thresh-
old.

9.4.3 Checking Vacuum Hoses and Hose Clamps

1. Check the vacuum hoses for wear.
2. Replace damaged vacuum hoses (chafe marks, breaks, kinks, etc.).
