Safety beam guide
The light of all employed VIS lasers (wavelength range 400 - 700 nm, visible spectrum) and STED
lasers is fed through a fiber optic cable and, therefore, completely shielded until it leaves the
microscope objective and reaches the specimen.
For systems with infrared laser (wavelength range > 700 nm), the beam is passed through a safety
beam guide and, if necessary, also passed through a fiber optic cable (see Figure 26). This shields
the laser beam until it leaves the microscope objective and reaches the specimen.
