Refilling Coolant in the External Coolant Tank

Figure 54:
1.Before refilling the coolant, de-energize the HyD supply unit (Figure 54, item 1) and the
entire system; otherwise, air may be sucked in.
2.Refer to the safety data sheet for the coolant in the appendix of the User Manual and the
instructions provided there for information on safe handling of the coolant.
3.Hold the coolant tank (Figure 54, item 2) securely with one hand. Unscrew the cover
(Figure 54, item 3) using the other hand.
4.Carefully refill the tank with the permitted coolant.
5.Close the external coolant tank (Figure 54, item 2) using the corresponding cover
(Figure 54, item 3).
You have just refilled coolant in the external coolant tank.

A low coolant level and aspirated air may damage the instrument
The coolant level must not be below the minimum fill level marked on the
external coolant tank (see figure Figure 54, item 4). If the minimum fill
level is not reached, air can be sucked into the cooling circuit. Aspirated
air can disrupt the cooling circuit, which causes severe damage to the
instrument. If air is sucked into the circuit, keep the system switched off
and notify the Leica branch office in your country or your local contact
person.
Damage to the instruments due to incorrect coolant
Only use the permitted coolants, since otherwise the cooling circuit, the
peripheral device and the entire system could be destroyed. In case of
doubt, notify the Leica branch office in your country or your local contact
person.
