Chapter 3 Operations for Linear/Nonlinear Editing
A cut jump involves the cut points on all channels selected with the channel
specification keys. For example, if the three channels selected are V, A1, and
A2, each time you press the [ B? ] key, a cut jump is carried out as shown by
to 3 in the figure below.

On the MAVE-F555, there are four editing mode which you can use for
different nonlinear editing operations.
INSERT mode
This is used for cut insertion or replacement.
See Section 3-2-3, "Cut Insertion/Replacement" (page 3-13).
OVERWRITE mode
This is used for cut overwriting.
See Section 3-2-4, "Cut Overwriting" (page 3-23).
EXTRACT mode
This is used for deleting a specified section. After deleting, the duration is
reduced by the length of the specified section.
See Section 3-2-5, "Deleting a Cut" (page 3-29).
LIFT mode
This is used for deleting by replacing a specified section with BLACK/
MUTING data.
See Section 3-2-5, "Deleting a Cut" (page 3-29).
Note
With Version 1.00 of the MAVE-F555, operation of the following keys is
disabled.
• REPLAY/PREVIEW key operation
• MARK SPLIT key operation
