SET MODE

Display

Backlight
[MENU] > SET > Display > Backlight
Selects an option for the transceiver backlight�
• OFF: The backlight does not light�
• ON: The backlight lights continuously�
• Auto: The backlight lights when you push a key or
rotate [DIAL], and reduces the brightness*
after the set period of time in "Backlight Timer�"
• Auto (DC IN:ON):
The backlight lights when you push a key or
rotate [DIAL], and reduces the brightness*
after the set period of time in "Backlight Timer�"
L When an external DC power source is
connected, lights continuously�
L When using the GPS Logger Only mode, "Auto" is
automatically selected�
* When "Dim Screen" is set to "OFF," the backlight goes out
after the set period of time in "Backlight Timer�"
Backlight Timer
[MENU] > SET > Display > Backlight Timer
Sets the Backlight Timer to 5, 10, or 30 seconds�
Depending on the "Backlight" setting, the backlight
lights for this set period of time, and then automatically
reduces the brightness�
L When "Dim Screen" is set to "OFF," the backlight goes out
after this set period of time�
Brightness
[MENU] > SET > Display > Brightness
Sets the LCD backlight brightness level to between
1 (dim) and 8 (bright)�
(Default: Auto (DC IN:ON))
(Default: 10sec)
(Default: 8)
Dim Screen
[MENU] > SET > Display > Dim Screen
Selects whether or not to automatically reduce the
backlight brightness�
• OFF: The backlight immediately goes out after the
set period of time in "Backlight Timer�"
• ON: The backlight brightness automatically changes
to the "Brightness (Dim)" level after the set
period of time in "Backlight Timer," and goes
out after the set period of time in "Dim Timer�"

Dim Timer
[MENU] > SET > Display > Dim Timer
Sets the Dim Timer to 1, 2, 5, or 10 minutes, or Hold�
Depending on the "Dim Screen" setting, the backlight
lights at the "Brightness (Dim)" level for this set period
of time, and then automatically goes out�
• 1/2/5/10min: The backlight goes out after this set
period of time�
• Hold:
The backlight does not go out�
Brightness (Dim)
[MENU] > SET > Display > Brightness (Dim)
Sets the LCD backlight brightness level for the set period
of time in "Dim Timer," to between 1 (dim) and 7 (bright)�
L Set a lower level than "Brightness�" If you set a higher level
than "Brightness," the Dim Screen function does not work�
L You can check the brightness at each level on the
"Brightness" screen�
Background Color
[MENU] > SET > Display > Background Color
Sets the display background color to Black or White�
Contrast
[MENU] > SET > Display > Contrast
Sets the display contrast to Light, Standard, or Dark�
