5.8.1 WAN Interface Configuration Screen Fields
The following sections describe WAN Interface Configuration screen
fields and instructions for setting them.
Interface Number
Displays Interface Numbers 03-28. Use this field to configure the
Interface Numbers you assigned to the Timeslots at the WAN Physical
Configuration screen. This field only displays the active SYNC and T1
interfaces.
Data Compression
Displays the status of Data Compression. Select Yes to activate Data
Compression or No to de-activate.
Note: Data Compression is not supported at this time.
Max Xmit Unit
Displays the maximum packet size that can be transmitted on the
selected Interface. CRC-16 supports a maximum packet size of 4095.
This field displays 0 when Frame Relay is not used. When you save the
interface configuration, the ETWMIM Local Management
automatically assigns 4095 as the Max Xmit Unit.
Line Coding
Displays the T1 Line Coding. If you set T-1 Line Coding to B8ZS (at
the WAN Physical Configuration screen), the options are INV-HDLC,
JBZS, or NONE. If you set T-1 Line Coding to AMI (at the WAN
Physical Configuration screen), the options are JBZS and HDLC.
Active Protocol
Displays the active Link Layer protocol. This field displays PPP (Point
to Point), FR (Frame Relay), or NONE.
If you select FR the following field appears:
FR LMI Type: This field displays NO LMI or T1-617-D.
If you select NO LMI the following fields appear:
FR DLCI Address: This field lets you select the DLCI address (the
specified DLCI address values are 16 - 991).
FR Circuit State: This field displays ACTIVE, INACTIVE, OR
INVALID.
