Maintenance and servicing

6.1

Chapter content

This section provides information on the following:
● Maintenance and servicing procedures that have to be carried out on a regular basis to
ensure the availability of the components
● Replacing device components when the unit is serviced
● Forming the DC link capacitors
Risk of death resulting from failure to observe the basic safety instructions and residual
risks
Failure to observe the basic safety instructions and residual risks in section 1 can lead to
accidents resulting in serious injury or death.
• Comply with the basic safety instructions.
• Take into account residual risks when assessing risks.
Risk of death from electric shock due to residual charge in the DC link capacitors
Because of the DC link capacitors, a hazardous voltage is present for up to 5 minutes after
the power supply has been switched off.
Contact with live parts can result in death or serious injury.
• Only open the device after 5 minutes have elapsed.
• Measure the voltage before starting work on the DCP and DCN DC link terminals.
Risk of death from electric shock due to external supply voltages
When an external supply voltage is connected or external 230 V AC auxiliary supply is
present, hazardous voltages are still present on the components even when the main
switch is switched off.
Contact with live parts can result in death or serious injury.
• Switch off external supply voltages and external 230 V AC auxiliary supply before
