5.4.1 Checking the tyres and wheels
Even with little-used car transporters, the tyres are subject to an ageing
process due to weather influences such as solar radiation,
Cold, etc. Check the condition of the tyres/wheels regularly. We
recommend changing the tyres after 6 years.
Tightening torque of the wheel bolts (identical for both rear axles): See
operating instructions for basic vehicle.
The values for the tightening torque of the wheel bolts may vary slightly
depending on the construction vehicle and rim design. If there are no
values
of the base vehicle is available, a tightening torque of 200 Nm can be
assumed as an alternative average value.
Tyre pressure on the rear axles (identical for both rear axles): See operating
instructions for base vehicle.
64/ 100
View the tyres all around.
°Look out for cracks or foreign bodies.
Check the tyre pressure. Information on the required tyre pressure
can be found below in these operating instructions or on the sticker
on the car transporter.
°Fill up with air if necessary.
Check the tyre tread depth of the tyre (minimum tread depth in
Germany according to StVO 1.6 mm, a minimum tread depth of 4
mm is recommended).
° Replace the tyre if necessary.
Check that all wheel bolts are tight.
If necessary, tighten all wheel bolts crosswise with a torque
spanner.
