12 Maintenance

12.1 Intervals

Disrupted or failed therapy due to inadequate or incorrect
maintenance!
Incorrect maintenance might result in dangerous situations, and
failure or malfunctioning of the device. This might cause the
patient and bystanders serious or life-threatening injury.
 Ensure that maintenance, safety checks and servicing measures
are carried out only by the manufacturer, or by technicians
specifically authorized by the manufacturer.
 Observe the maintenance intervals even when the device is in
storage for a prolonged period.
 Observe the maintenance intervals as marked on the device.
 Perform a complete function check prior to every use.
Disrupted or failed therapy due to lack of maintenance!
If maintenance intervals are not observed, malfunctions might
occur. This can cause serious or life-threatening injury to the
patient.
 Observe the maintenance schedule according to the
instructions for use and the displays on the device.
 Observe the maintenance schedule even for devices and
accessories in storage.
Reduction in rechargeable battery capacity due to aging!
The rechargeable battery is subject to a natural aging process,
resulting in a decrease in capacity. This might result in premature
failure of the power supply.
 Note that the range of the rechargeable battery will gradually
decrease due to aging.
 Pay attention to the battery wear indicator in the function
check.
 If battery life has expired, replace the rechargeable battery.
