Ventilating the patient
Selecting emergency mode
1. Briefly press the On/Off button
.
2. Select emergency mode:
• Emergency Pediatric
• Emergency Child
• Emergency Adult
Selecting previous patient
1. Briefly press the On/Off button
.
2. Select Previous patient field.
If you do not select a menu within 20 seconds, the device automati-
cally switches to the Previous patient menu and immediately begins
ventilation of the patient. In this case, the device uses the ventilation mode
and ventilation parameters set for the last patient to be ventilated. To switch
off the countdown before the 20 seconds have elapsed, move one of the
navigation knobs.
Selecting a new patient
1. Briefly press the On/Off button
.
2. Select New patient field.
3. Select height and gender or navigate to the
Height field and turn the navigation knob further
to select the desired patient group.
4. Press the navigation knob next.
5. Select a ventilation mode.
6. If necessary: Adjust the ventilation parameters and
press start.
Changing the ventilation mode
Requirements:
• The device is switched on.
• A ventilation mode is set.
1. Briefly press the menu button
.
2. Select the Mode field.
3. Select a ventilation mode.
4. Adjust the ventilation parameters and press start.

CPR mode
Performing CPR ventilation
Requirements:
• The device is switched on.
• The MEDUtrigger is connected to the device.
• A ventilation mode for a new patient is set.
1. Briefly press the CPR button
.
The device switches to the mode CPR 30:2/CPR 15:2/CPR IPPV (depending on
the preset). The green LEDs on the MEDUtrigger light up.
2. If necessary:
Change algorithm:
• 30:2
• 15:2
Continuous
3. Press and hold the MEDUtrigger button
during the ventilation phase until two
mechanical breaths are performed.
4. To exit the CPR mode,
press the CPR button
again.
Pausing the ventilation
Requirements:
• Cardiac rhythm analysis or defibrillation
is being performed.
• The device is switched on.
• The CPR mode is set.
• Continuous ventilation
is activated.
1. Select the Pause
field.
The ventilation is paused for 50 seconds.
RSI mode
Performing RSI ventilation
Requirements:
• The device is switched on.
• The MEDUtrigger is connected to the device.
• RSI was set as the ventilation mode for a
new patient. The Demand function is
automatically activated.
1. For the function Manual, navigate to the
field Demand.
2. Select the Manual field.
3. To perform continuous ventilation
following successful airway management,
select the Contin. field. The device
switches to IPPV mode.
To enable the selection of the function Manual, a MEDUtrigger must
be connected. Otherwise, this function will not be displayed.
