7. Remove the negative cable first, then the positive cable from the battery (Figure 8).

8. Remove the left and right side covers,

9. Remove the seat,
see "Seat Removal," chapter 5, page 5-23.
10. Remove the front seat mount,
see "Front Seat Mount Removal," chapter 5, page 5-25.
11. Loosen the drive wheel release valve to a quarter turn on the left and right side of the transmission.
12. Remove the e-clip and washer securing the left and right motion control linkage.
