– Remove roof railing - 5-
– Unscrew bolts -2-
– Remove retaining bracket -1- together with tolerance com‐
pensation -3 and 4-.
If the retaining bracket is to be reinstalled, secure tolerance com‐
pensation with commercially available adhesive tape.
4.5.2 Installing retaining bracket
Note
The various wedges in the tolerance compensation -4 and 5- must
not be interchanged with one another.
Remove adhesive tape from tolerance compensation before in‐
stalling, if previously secured with tape.
– Ensure the individual wedges in the tolerance compensation
-4 and 5- are seated correctly.
– First position roof railing -6- on roof, then guide the retaining
bracket -1- over the studs until the wedges in the tolerance
compensation -4 and 5- are centralized.
– Only tighten hexagon nut -2- until the retaining bracket sits on
roof.
– Tighten bolts -3-, tightening torque: 20 Nm.
– Now tighten hexagon nut -2-, specified torque: 23 Nm.
– If dents develop at support foot of roof railing, adjust retaining
bracket.
