If the trim -2- cannot be removed as described, the trim -2- will have to be renewed in the event of damage.

Fitting instructions
Note
The special add-on parts are bonded in the factory with dou‐
♦
ble-sided adhesive tape and PU adhesive.
The special add-on parts are primed by the suppliers and de‐
♦
livered with double-sided adhesive tape.
Ensure that protective film of double-sided adhesive tape
♦
strips remains free of paint and paint mist when painting spoil‐
er.
Caution
When removing special add-on parts, use suitable gloves and
protective eyewear.
Do not use cutting wire to remove special add-on parts.
The temperature of the room, work bay and vehicle must be ap‐
proximately the same (at least 15°C).
Remove existing adhesive tape residues with adhesive remains
remover - VAS 6349- .
Always use a clean, lint-free cloth for cleaning.
Immediately before attaching special add-on parts, clean exterior
areas using adhesive remover and then carefully remove dirt,
grease, wax and other impurities using plastic cleaner.
Remove backing only immediately before installation.

Preparing add-on parts for bonding
– Remove any adhesive residues of double-sided adhesive tape
with adhesive strip remover - VAS 6349- .
– Immediately before bonding add-on parts, clean bonding sur‐
face thoroughly with adhesive remover.

Bonding surfaces must be free of dust and grease and there
should be no adhesive residues.
– Using applicator, apply plastic primer evenly in one pass.
•
Allow primer to dry in air for approx. 10 minutes.
•
The body component must be prepared for bonding.
