1.1.1 Image Faults

1.1.1.1 Light Image / Weak Density

1.1.1.1.1 Differences between the image on the original and the print occur / Density adjustment

Description
You can recalibrate the density adjustment scale if differences between the image on the original and the print occur.
Field Remedy
Press Settings/Registration > press Adjustment/Maintenance > Adjust Image quality > Correct Density > adjust the density > press OK.
[Caution] Make sure to perform this function in the stable room environment (i.e. temperature and humidity). The color may become unstable due to the rapid
changes in room environment, especially soon after staring up an air conditioner during summer or winter season.

1.1.1.2 Foggy Image

1.1.1.2.1 Foggy images

Description
When copying or printing, foggy images that cause color to appear on white area occur. Follow below remedies to correct foggy images.

[Caution]
This function is displayed only if the settings are made available by your local authorized Canon dealer. Even if this function is displayed, do not allow anyone to
change the settings except for the system manager. For more information on changing the settings, contact your local authorized Canon dealer.
1) Select Settings/Registration > Adjustment/Maintenance > Adjust Image Quality > Correct Color Cast > adjust color with foggy images using "+" > press OK.
However, if foggy images do not disappear after changing the setting value to "+2", contact your local authorized Canon dealer.
[Caution]
When you set a positive value "+", the color cast will be removed, but the following problems may occur.
- Color fading occurs at the tail end of the output image.
- Glossy grains occur.
- Fine lines are printed more fine.
If you set to a negative value "-" when these problems occur, these may be improved.
2) Implement the automatic gradation adjustment (full adjustment).
2-1) Select and implement Settings/Registration > Adjustment/Maintenance > Adjust Image Quality > Auto Adjust Gradation > Full Adjust > select a pickup loca-
tion with paper for the test print > press OK.
[Reference]
The following procedures are required when using the Duplex Color Image Reader Unit-H1 as an automatic gradation adjustment method. When using the Auto
Gradation Sensor-A1, you do not need to scan test pages. When you press "Start Printing", the machine prints test pages and perform full adjustment automatically.
2-2) Press "Start Printing". First test page is output.
