1 Tempo map events
These are the events recorded in the tempo map. When
you create a new song, a tempo map event of time sig-
nature = 4/4 and tempo = 120 will be created at the
beginning of the song (measure 1, beat 1).

Move the cursor to the TEMPO field of the
event, and use the [DATA/JOG] dial or [INC]/
[DEC] keys to set the tempo value.
The tempo can be set from 30 to 250 (BPM).

If necessary, move the cursor to the METER
field and use the [DATA/JOG] dial or [INC]/
[DEC] keys to change the time signature.
The time signature can be set from 1/4 to 8/4.
HINT
• It is also possible to change the tempo or time signature dur-
ing a song. For details, refer to "Creating a tempo map" ( →
p. 175).

Switching virtual tracks

Each audio track contains eight virtual tracks. After over-
dubbing a solo part, you can switch the virtual track for
that track, and record a different take while preserving the
previously-recorded content.

Call the TRACK screen Virtual TR page by
either pressing the Work Navigate section
[TRACK] key as many times as necessary,
or by pressing the [F2] key after pressing
the [TRACK] key.

1 Virtual tracks
Indicates the status of virtual tracks 1–8. The virtual
track that is currently selected for each track is indi-
cated by a "●" symbol. Of the virtual tracks that are
currently not selected, those that have been recorded
are indicated by " ", and those that have not yet been
recorded are indicated as "–".

Use the cursor keys to select the virtual
track number that you want to assign to the
desired track.

Press the [ENTER] key.
The "●" symbol will be displayed at the position of
the newly-selected virtual track. This virtual track will
now be used for recording/playback.
