Description
Paging, External (VRS) enables the use of prerecorded VRS messages for External Paging. The
advantage of this feature is saving time for the users who regularly use External Paging with the same
announcements.
Conditions
• If VRS External Paging is answered using the meet me paging service code and both parties are
connected, VRS stops the announcement.
• Paging, External (VRS) does not support Internal Paging. Also, combined paging is not supported.
• The paging telephone must remain off-hook during paging. If the paging telephone hangs up during
paging, VRS External paging stops.
• If an invalid VRS number is dialed or, there is no recorded VRS greeting, the caller hears an error
tone.
• Paging, External (VRS) will not play the starting and ending tone if enabled. If the starting and
ending tones are needed, they must be recorded in the VRS message itself.
• After the recorded VRS message is finished, the paging telephone hears a busy tone.
• When using the speaker mode on a paging telephone, the telephone becomes idle after the
recorded VRS message finishes.
• The Paging, External (VRS) feature is supported with Embedded VRS.
