Recoater Blade Gap Check and Adjustment
12. Tighten the 2 lock nuts.
13. Remove the leveling fixtures from the blade.
14. Reinstall the vacuum hose to the recoater blade.
Recoater Blade Gap Check and Adjustment
Before starting this procedure, grasp the recoater blade and lift it up, pressing against the
compression springs. Release the blade and verify that it drops to the bottom of the blade
supports. If the blade fails to rise or drop, perform the rake check and adjustment procedure
1. Remove the four shipping screws securing the recoater rim plate and install the screws
included in the zip-lock bag shipped with the system.
2. Launch the Phoenix technician's interface.
3. From the Home screen, select Queue and move the .bff Gapcheck file from the Job
Directory pane to the top of the Job Queue pane, then click Back.

There is a Gapcheck file for each resin type. Select the file that corresponds to the
resin used by the machine being checked. There are two types of gapcheck files,
one is as noted below, with two strips. An alternate file is used for more viscous
resins. this file contains 6 boxes used to verify the blade gap. the process is the
same.
