BANKS MODULES (IF CONNECTED)

The "Banks Modules" menu allows
you to configure and/or control
modules that are connected to the
iDash 1.8. Only connected Banks
Modules will show up in this section.
To access the menu:
1.
Select "Banks Modules" from the
main "MENU."
2.
Scroll through the list and select
the module you would like to
configure.

11.1 Banks Ambient Air
Density (AAD) Module
See Owner's Manual 97660 for more
AAD Module information.
11.1.1 Why you need
Banks' Ambient Air
Density Module?
An engine's power potential is directly
affected by ambient air conditions.
The Banks AAD Module allows you to
monitor the pressure, temperature,
and humidity of the air entering your
engine with extreme accuracy. You
will gain a new understanding of how
elevation, temperature, and humidity
effect your vehicle's performance.
11.1.2 What can I do with
the sensor?
1.
Measure air density of ambientair
around your vehicle.
2.
Measure air density of the airbox
inlet to evaluate how effective your
"cold air" intake really is.
3.
Measure the "Ram-Air" effect of an
airbox duct location.
4.
Data log ambient conditions at the
racetrack to compare data between
different days.
5.
Ambient relative humidity can be
used to evaluate if air will condense
out during the intercooling stage.
11.1.3 New Parameters
with the AAD Module
After installation, the AAD
Module will add the following
parameters:
• Ambient Air Density Mass (lb/1kft3)
• Ambient Air Density %
• Ambient Air Pressure (psi, kpa)
• Ambient Air Pressure (in Hg)
• Ambient Air Temperature (C, F)
• Relative Humidity (%)
• Grains H2O (grain/lb air)
• Density Altitude (ft)
• Pressure Altitude (ft)
• SAE J607 Correction Factor
• SAE J1349 Correction Factor
If your vehicle possesses OEM
temperature and pressure sensors, this
data will be overwritten by the more
accurate and faster-responding AAD
Module data.
To change iDash 1.8's displayed
parameters (See Figure 2.1-9):
1.
Go to "Menu"and select "Gauge
Selection".
2.
Select a "Field #" to change the
parameter.
