Setting up the Telepresence Room
Ensure the room's location and infrastructure conforms to the values specified in
Table 1: Requirements for the Avaya XT Telepresence room
Room property Requirement
Room Standard room: width 4-4.6m, depth 6-9.2m, height 3-5m
dimensions
Dual-row room: width 9.5m, depth 6-9.2m, height 3-5m.
Windows Ensure there are no windows, or cover them with gray or light-blue blinds or thick curtains.
There should be no outdoor light in the room.
Noise Use a quiet room isolated from outside noise sources, with air conditioning system not
louder than 45 dBA where you plan to place the Microphone Pod.
Put up notices warning meeting participants that they should not use cellular phones during
a telepresence meeting to avoid electromagnetic interference.
Materials Avoid hard or polished materials which exaggerate light and sound reflections, like glass for
furniture or partitions, polished wood, marble floors, plasterboard false ceiling.
Use a fitted carpet, and upholster walls with fabric, except for the wall serving as the
background for the participants.
