Cleaning the extraction cone
Required materials
•
Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves.
•
Appropriately sized glass vessel in which to completely immerse the
extraction cone when cleaning. Use only glassware not previously
cleaned with surfactants.
•
HPLC-grade (or better) methanol.
•
HPLC-grade (or better) water.
•
Formic acid.

when removing the extraction cone from the ion block.
• The extraction cone is fragile. Never place it on its tip; always
place it on its flanged base.
