Instruct the patient in the handling and care of the product.
Instruct the patient to see a physician immediately if any exceptional changes are noted (e.g.
worsening of the complaint).
5.1 Selecting the Size
>
Required tools: 743S1=60 diameter or 743E10 measuring tool
1) Measure the width of the torso 4 cm below the shoulder blades (see fig. 3).
2) Measure the width of the torso at the level of the iliac crest (see fig. 4).
3) Determine the size of the tube frames using the measured dimensions and the size chart on
page 5.
4) INFORMATION: Determine the size of the brace (XS/S/M/L/XL/XXL) on the basis of
the width of the torso below the shoulder blades.
If necessary, order the lower tube frame one size smaller or bigger and then replace it
(reference number 29R394=XS/S/M/L/XL/XXL).
5.2 Adaptation
NOTICE
Improper changes
Damage to the product due to overloading of the material and improper fit of the product due to
breakage of load-bearing components
Do not make any improper changes to the product.
1) NOTICE! Make sure not to damage the pins when attaching or removing the pads.
Attach the sacral pad at the lower tube frame (see fig. 5).
2) Optional: To increase wearer comfort, attach and adapt the side pads, which can be ordered
separately, to the ends of the tubular frame. One set of side pads (29R390) is required for the
upper and lower tubular frames (see fig. 6).
3) Insert the upper tube frame in the spring adapters and tighten the screws (see fig. 7).
4) Position the brace frame on the back (see fig. 8):
Sacral pad on the sacrum
Shoulder pads approx. 4 cm below the shoulder blades
INFORMATION: The upper tube frame is moved inside the spring adapters for the ver
tical positioning of the shoulder pads. The maximum pull-out height is indicated on
the tube frame (see fig. 9). The pin of the shoulder pads can be inserted in one of the
three holes for horizontal positioning. Place cover caps on all pads when positioning
is done (see fig. 10).
5) Check the fit of the tube frame for the patient and make any necessary adjustments by bend
ing the tube frame or replacing the lower tube frame. The replacement size may only be one
size smaller or bigger (reference number 29R394=S/M/L/XL/XXL).
6) Determine the number of necessary abdominal strap segments (see fig. 11). Pay attention to
the minimum and maximum overlapping of the strap end elements (see fig. 12).
7) Remove unnecessary abdominal strap segments by pulling out the connecting rods (see
fig. 13).
8) Reconnect the abdominal strap segments to be used by means of a connecting rod.
9) Apply the frame of the brace to the back.
10) If necessary, adjust the angle of the abdominal strap at the spring elements after loosening
the screws and removing the covers (see fig. 14).
11) Evenly pull the two abdominal strap closures to the front (see fig. 15).
12) Close the abdominal strap (see fig. 16).
